According to the records of the association on November 11, 2021, nearly 150 members were lost contact. In order to further assist the government in promoting the COVID-19 vaccination, ensure the health and safety of all WCA members, a 15 person "WCA COVID-19 vaccination promotion Team" was specially organized. The tasks of the team members are: 1. Each person is responsible for contacting 10 lost members by phone or WeChat social media, through friends or acquaintances, or even door-to-door inquiry according to the address; 2. Find out whether the member is in Auckland or has returned to China; 3. Check whether the member has been vaccinated; 4. If it is not vaccinated, find out the cause; 5. Help non vaccinated members overcome difficulties, solve problems and go to vaccination; 6. Give the vaccine receiver a gift card as a reward. The team established on 12.11.2021 and got 15 volunteers and got funding from Ministry of Ethnic Communities for the project operating cost.
Some of the lost members have neither telephone number nor address, some have wrong address or telephone number, some have moved, some have returned to China, and some live in rural areas with inconvenient transportation. The volunteers of the team not only try their best but also help each other to track those lost members one by one. After a week's efforts of all volunteers, 127 lost members have been found, of which 6 have not been vaccinated. At the present, we are doing one to one counselling service with them, encouraging and help them to vaccinate.
